I'd like to introduce you to the ways you can modify your game, to the major options available in each category, with some commentary about individual mods if I happen to have used them. I'm going to give you a tour of the possibilities. What I will do instead is tell you all the things I wish somebody had told me when I started modding Skyrim. I'll link to some guides, but I will not pretend to give you a step-by-step instruction list. A modding guide sets out to help you build a specific modlist that works well together, without bugs. So what would help you get started? Well, how about Ceejbot’s introduction to Skyrim modding?

If you wanted to mod Skyrim so it looks and plays wonderfully, my modlist would not help you get started. Also, let’s be honest: this list of mods is bewildering to the newcomer. This list is names of plugin files, not mod names, so it can be super-confusing to read. Sometimes people on Twitter ask me for a modlist. I am happily role-playing my way through my social distancing 2020 playthrough, posting ridiculous screenshots. They fix game bugs, add new features, and make the game look fresh. They’re amazing and fantastic and disturbing and inspiring. I stubmled upon a black faced wood elf vampire in Windhelm and that prompted me to create a patch.Skyrim mods are why the game is alive eight years after it was launched. I use MO so I just dumped these files in 3DNPC mod category alongside the.

Ah, meaning you don’t want this patch if you don’t use USSEP/another mod that forwards USSEP changes to vampire head parts or whatever that was.

The patch covers elvhen vampires that were broken after USSEP update. Will work with any SE compilation of 3dNPC, provided you use EEO. Works the same way all the patches linked here work – simply override the mod files, either by installing as a separate “patch” or by copypasting the files right away into /data or mod’s directory. I can’t save 3dnpc.esp in SE CK even if I wanted to make any changes to their appearances (which I don’t because they don’t belong to me). There are just regenerated facegen files (meshes and textures).

esp uploaded by KT in the 3.31 alpha was “form 43”, right? I do not see a good option here, at all.Īaand how do I host an archive here? Can’t see any options for that.Įthereal Elvhen Overhaul patch is here for now: Dropbox link I am hesitant to try sonja’s loose files because she said there were CTDs in it that she never solved. I can’t extract trip’s BSA because the extractors think it’s corrupt (SSE / BA2 aware extractors), and we know it does have corrupt files. Perhaps the mod’s BSA should be broken up into multiple parts (smaller BSAs), each of which is mandatory? Would that work?Įdit: this is a mess. This is the last thing missing from my Skyrim SE install. Has anyone had success in NMM with the loose files repack that sonja uploaded? The latest NMM is really good at handling everything else, including virtual folders for a clean install.

What’s the best way to get this running if you’re using NMM? I grabbed all the various voice/face patches linked in thread. It could ‘add’ the file but not activate it. NMM, sadly, could not activate the BSA version from tripp. I’m using the latest Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) with Skyrim SE, on a fast computer with SSD. I’m no mod author, and while I have some understanding of file structures, and I can create basic patches… that is about it in terms of my abilities. I *really* REALLY wish the team had the time to release a fully stable version for SSE. I’ve said this before, and I will say it again… Considering that the esp for this mod has been saved in the new CK and now has form 44, and that the Meshes were optimised for SSE by Camaug…. it’s truly hard to know what is functioning and what which NPCs have no name, or interaction? So far, I don’t recall finding any. The reason being, I’d rather not tinker with my setup too much at this point, seeing as currently INPCs appears to be working.

I think, what I will do is create patches for the corrupt files you mentioned and install those over Trip’s BSA, and see if that works in my game. Has anybody else experienced a CTD at that juncture using the loose files I posted? At the time I thought it was something to do with the loose files, but perhaps it was something else. sometimes you just want to pull your hair OK, at least we seem to be inching slowly closer to a properly stable version, but wow… The reason I actually stopped using my own loose files version (which I thought I’d posted about, but apparently not) is that I was getting a persistent CTD when approaching the boat that appears near the end of Brother and Keeper. I’ve developed a whole new respect for mod authors.
